Erich RussekRobbins - Owner

Erich has studied with notable guitar teachers including Keith Wyatt, Jennifer Batten, Steve Trovato, Norman Brown, Russ Parrish, Nick Nolan, Dan Gilbert, Scott Henderson, Tommy Tedesco, Robben Ford and Bob Knezevich. He studied Jazz piano privately with Earl Blake. He also studied xylophone, drums, trumpet and French horn in college. And he studied clarinet, bass clarinet and sax through high school. Erich was one of the first to gain advanced training in Sound Engineering at Omega Recording Studios where he also worked as an engineer in the early 1980s. He is currently working on his ABSRM (Associated Board of Royal School of Music) certification. He also has a computer background with certificates in software programming, network administration and computer repair.

Erich has had his music heard on Radio, TV and in Movies. He has played in rock, roots rock, Cajun, swing, Mariachi, cabaret, world bands and even in a Turkish Orchestra. His favorite instruments are the ukulele and the electric saz.

Erich enjoys teaching guitar, clarinet, piano, music theory and sound recording. Look out for his "vegetable show" for young children where he demonstrates how to make a carrot sound like a clarinet or a squash sound like trumpet. What sound does a kumquat make? Ask him.

Alex Villavicencio - Sales and Lesson Specialist

Alex is studying computer science at Northern Virginia Community College and plans to further his education in this field at George Mason. He has 10 years of experience in C-flute performance, and is a self-taught guitarist. He deals with sales, returns, orders, and lesson scheduling here at Nova Music Center.

Ashton Baldwin - Sales/Lessons Coordinator
Ashton is a biology major at Northern Virginia Community College hoping to one day be come a geneticist, but her first love was music. She plays flute, piccolo, and melodica as well as two years of experience conducting as a high school drum major.
Brian Poague - Sales/Billing
Brian studied Audio Engineering and is a graduate of Omega Studios’ Applied Arts and Sciences Comprehensive Program, where he got to work with Grammy Award winning artist and engineers. He is the stores rental billing specialist and retail sales associate. Brian also plays piano and keyboards in bands around the DC area.
Jimmy Portillo - Sales and Social Media Specialist

Jimmy is a former student of Fine Arts and is now hoping to pursue a career in music. He loves the guitar, both acoustic and electric, as well as bass. He is also a semiprofessional photographer and loves to take pictures for the store's website and social media.

Alan Byrd - On Site Guitar Tech
Alan has over 40 years of experience playing and repairing guitars. He routinely performs full guitar set-ups which include intonation, string changing, neck adjustment and overall cleaning. He is especially skilled with a soldering iron and knows his way around electronics like the back of his hand.
Gokul Chalasani - Studio Engineer

Gokul has studied recording at the Art Institute and is continuing to study recording at Northern Virginia Community College. He will come in to meet with anyone looking to have a recording session when scheduled ahead of time.
