This revival OMM is the Alex DeGrassi model. Its an dm body style with a soft cutaway-featuring a Sitka spruce top finished in sunburst with Honduran Mahogany back and sides.
Beautiful abalone top purfling and sound hole rosette with black body binding. Width at the nut is 1&3/4. Scale length is 25&1 2. Just a joy to play! A wonderful low profile neck with action that makes the guitar play like butter. Intonation is very consistent all of me way up the finger board. The guitar is up there with other high end acoustic guitars with a very resonant and complex sound, great depth, very harmonically rich and lots of sustain. Balance across the strings is perfect and as mentioned, the playability is fabulous. It can be used in standard tuning but also in alternate tunings.
Breedlove Guitars was established in 1990 by luthiers Larry Breedlove and Steve Henderson, while working at Taylor Guitars. After moving to Oregon, Breedlove and Henderson began specializing in custom, fingerstyle six and twelve string guitars. In 1991 the first Breedlove guitar model appeared, after experiments with the JLD bridge truss system and various bracing techniques. Around 1994, Larry’s brother, Kim Breedlove, joined Larry and Steve as a master craftsman. Breedlove strives to be environmentally conscious, and is “dedicated to selecting alternatives to endangered rainforest woods.”
